Growing

Communicating with Impact

Why focus on growing human-centred leaders?

Human-centred leadership is about putting people at the centre of organisational decision-making and creating an environment of empathy, inclusivity, and trust. It focuses on understanding the needs and motivations of team members and taking their well-being into account, ensuring they feel valued and supported.

In today’s rapidly changing world, where remote work and digital transformation are reshaping the workplace, human-centred leadership is crucial. It addresses the growing demand for emotional intelligence, adaptability, and a deeper connection between leaders and their teams.

Benefits of
human-centred leadership

Leaders who put people first drive higher employee engagement, innovation, and productivity. This not only strengthens the organisational culture but also helps to increase organisational resilience, reduce turnover, and improve overall performance.

"Employees who [....] are seen as people, not just resources, are:

3.8 times more likely to be high performing
3.2 times more likely to enjoy high intent to stay
3.1 times more likely to see low levels of fatigue"

Leadership Development

Preparing New People Leaders

Have you moved from a technical/expert role to a leadership one?  Do you find yourself confronted with the “messiness” of humanity – both that of your team and your own?

Moving to a leadership position for the first time is exciting and rewarding; it can also be a bit daunting and challenging.  You may realise that the skills that got you here, won’t get you there.  Suddenly, you need to know how to motivate and lead the different personalities on your team; how and when to give them feedback; how to coach them and what to do if there is conflict.

My workshops and development programmes support you in managing this transition and help you grow into being a human-centred leader who can bring out the best in your team.

“Leaders must either invest a reasonable amount of time attending to fears and feelings or squander an unreasonable amount of time trying to manage ineffective and unproductive behaviour.”

Communicating Globally

Communicating with Impact

Do you lack confidence working and presenting in English? Being able to work and present in your second or even third language is a super power.  Most native English speakers are unaware of the insecurity you may feel and energy needed just to engage in everyday exchanges at work, let alone to stand on a stage and present to a large audience.

My goal is to work with you to boost your confidence and fluency in English.  Many of my clients have delivered presentations on stage in front of hundreds of people…..and enjoyed it!

I will work with you on your English, as well as look at certain devices and techniques, such as story telling, and the physical aspects of presenting, to help make your presentations more engaging.

“Courage is not the absence of fear; courage is fear walking.
When we witness someone’s bravery, it’s not that they are free from fear—it’s that they’ve learned to walk with it.

- Susan David, Ph.D

“Liebe Heidi, sie (meine Rede) ist sehr gut gelaufen! Ich hatte wahnsinnig gutes Feedback. Vielen Dank noch einmal für deine Hilfe. Es hat wirklich sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Vielleicht brauche ich es erst einmal wieder, dann nur mit dir wieder.”

“Dear Heidi, it (my key note speech) went very well! I had incredibly good feedback. Thank you again for your help. It was really a lot of fun. Maybe I’ll need it again, and then only with you.”

What my clients are saying

“Thank you, Heidi for your inspiring and enlightening coaching sessions. The results I’ve achieved are a testament to your process. I’m now using my time more effectively with new tools and habits, my productivity is increasing every day and stress levels are decreasing.

I take pleasure in seeing how far I’ve come and look forward to taking a bite from my next challenge very soon”.

About Me

I grew up living in between cultures, observing similarities and differences between people and being curious about them.   This curiosity led me to study languages at university before starting my accounting traineeship at one of the Big Four.

The dynamics I encountered at work fascinated me. Why was it that some leaders were admired and looked up to whilst others were dreaded? Why was the senior leader who screamed at his staff tolerated? Why was my manager so supportive and encouraging of me? Encouraged by my manager, I studied psychology and coaching. She gave me the opportunity to apply my learnings at work.

Many years and three continents later...

having worked with individuals and teams in both multinational organisations and smaller, local ones, I remain convinced that it is being human-centred that makes the difference. We need to recognise both our own humanity as leaders and that of our teams.

Each of us wants to be seen, heard and understood.

I work with leaders, in both English and German, to help them better see, hear, and understand their teams—and themselves. Why? Because when people feel understood, they feel valued and motivated.  And motivated people are ready to realize their potential, bringing their best to both their professional and personal lives.

What guides me in my work…..

  • a mindset that is characterised by openness and curiosity
  • an attitude that we humans are all perfectly “flawsome”
  •  a fundamental understanding that leadership is a way of being, regardless of title
  • a tool and skill set that allows clients to navigate opportunities, challenges and change
  • the belief that we all have unrealised potential, and that sometimes it just needs unlocking

Causes and Commitments

I am committed to using my business to create positive social impact – not just for my clients, but in the wider world. Here are the causes I support and my commitments to them.

CNCF empowers the communities it works with to break generational poverty cycles, transforming their lives, enabling them to thrive and shape their own futures.

Every year I will donate a percentage of my annual profits to support CNCF Mongolia’s Child Sponsorship Programme, which ensures vulnerable children living in poverty remain in education and working towards a brighter future. More information on this life-transforming initiative can be found at www.cncf.org/sponsor-a-child/.

My experience made me an “accidental advocate” for neurodiversity.  I am now dedicated to ongoing, intentional learning in this space.  Wherever I can, I strive to raise awareness, break down misconceptions, and help create environments where neurodivergent individuals feel seen, heard, and valued.

I align with Neurodiversity in Business (NiB) which promotes inclusive practices that empower neurodivergent talent to thrive. Together, we can build workplaces where every individual is respected for their unique strengths.
